Become A Steward
GBLT Stewards
The heart, soul and core of the GBLT is our dedicated team of Stewards. They help us by monitoring properties, helping with environmental inventories and assessments, helping to educate others about our unique archipelago and ensuring that the Trust is successful in protecting each of its properties in perpetuity.
For every property, GBLT works with the local community to identify a team of stewards, led by one or two co-lead Stewards who serve as the central liaison between the team of Stewards and GBLT.
Stewards of GBLT properties are people who love Georgian Bay and are close to a particular property either physically, spiritually, or both! As a Steward, you will be asked to keep an eye on one of our 26 protected properties. You don't have to be available year round or even all summer long. The team of Stewards work together, sharing the time and the work load and working with support from GBLT staff.
